The Great Gatsby Trailer!

So, uh, who else is practically screaming in their seat right now? I have adored The Great Gatsby since I first read the novel my junior year of high school and I've been anticipating a remake of the classic film from the 70s or an even greater adaption with super hyped SFX. My wish has been granted.

The Prada flapper costumes are TO DIE FOR. Leo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire (forever Peter Parker) are super swoon-worthy as Gatsby and Nick. Carey Mulligan is GORGEOUS. Also, the soundtrack includes Florence + The Machine and Beyoncé. Beam me up, I think my life is complete. The US release date of May 10th makes a perfect birthday present!

Anyone else anticipating this fabulous film?

5 Awesome Fashion Instagrams To Follow.

When I'm in a fashion rut, I tend to look to Instagram for insta-outfit ideas. It's crazy fast and much more intimate than Twitter and Tumblr. Let me share with you some of my favorite Instagram accounts for style inspiration.

This is the Instagram account of the street style blog Sydney Francisco. The guys running the account, Jason and Tyler, select outfits from various fashion blogs and among their own street style shots to feature as their favorite look of the day. Expect to find girls from around the world as your muse.

Tiffany Pham is just your average college student that loves clothes and styling. On most days she posts her daily outfits, hauls, and other fashionable finds. She has a great eye for trends. Keep an eye out for her online store!

Rola is a Japanese model and singer of Bengali, Japanese, and Russian heritage, well-known for her regular appearances in Vivi magazine. I adore her effortless style and adorable nail décor! And there's definitely no getting over precious dolly look.

Ever wake up and realize that there's a whole culture of little kids that dress better than you? I sure did. I will not be ashamed to say that I get fashion advice from 6-years old, especially when their as adorable as the ones above. Follow for a daily dose of sartorial cuteness.

I will never forget how hard I hyperventilated when I found out the queen herself had joined the Instagram community. And it was flooding with her own personal style photos! I never knew she was such a fashion goddess! I love her outfit photos and the little glimpses into her life, from art museums to chicken and waffles.

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram @TAYLYNCECILIAXO, where a post ootd's at least once a week.

If You're Thinking About... A Leather Jacket.

(Photos: ©, ©, ©, ©)

Edgier than a cardigan, tougher than a blazer. Juxtapose it with feminine pieces for a chic balance. Sport it with skinnies and combats for a retro rocker look. Combine with sneakers and a beanie for a tomboy look.

Here, a very relevant image for you.

Pumped Up Kicks.

I believe I've fallen head over heels for sneakers with heels, wedge heels anyway. They're super comfy and effortlessly chic. I love the sneaky height boost I get to support my 5'2 frame, but still look casual. This is the second pair I've bought in basic black, the first, a pretty taupe. I'm hoping for another pair in bold red, maybe these by Steve Madden. Do you have a favorite style of shoe that you just can't live without?

Opening Ceremony Fall/Winter 2013 + Catching Up.

(photos: ©)

Long time no see you guys! I've been extremely busy with school and pretty much figuring out my directions in life. I'm sorry that my break from blogging was unannounced. To come back, I felt like discussing my inspirations and influences for the upcoming season and to finish off this season. I've been really into basic monochrome lately.

My winter color palette has been pretty simple. Black, white, gray, navy, splash of red. I feel like Opening Ceremony gets me. I'm digging the basic leather. And I'm just a sucker for florals.

I can't wait to recap some of my favorite shows for the Fall/Winter season. Opening Ceremony, Sea, Burberry Prorsum, and Jason Wu really took the cake. Tell me some of your favorites!

Spikes and Sequins.

Xhilaration sequined sweatshirt, Forever 21 denim, G by GUESS sneaker wedges.

A streetwear-inspired look for today. As you can probably tell, I LOVE Forever 21 jeans. They fit so perfect regardless of type and they're so easy to move in. I hate wearing all neutrals so I'm glad this sweatshirt has just the right amount of sparkle to keep it interesting. Careful though when buying sequined tops, or sequined anything for that matter, it tends to get itchy after a while. Go forth, be itchy, but for the sake of fashion. Also, I abandoned the scalloped edges of my images. It started to feel very third grade after a while.

The Classic Prep.

American Rag Top, Forever 21 denim, Wet Seal necklace & belt, Betsey Johnson watch, Sperry Topsider wellies.
I finally got what I wished for.. SNOW! And it's actually sticking! Hoping to see my campus covered in snow by the end of the day. Today, I dressed in pretty classic staples. The top is sheer and loose so it didn't look too stuffy. I wore it with a tank underneath to keep from showing too much skin in this chilly weather. I know about the whole "belt should match your shoes" rule, but honestly, too much matching is B-O-R-I-N-G. I hope everyone's having a swell day!
